NIFE Updates

anyone can create nife games now

You have this new section up at the top of your User CP.

Clicking it gives you access to a single panel.

  • Fill out the name, and the short name will populate automatically. Of course you can also change it to whatever you want.

  • Set the avatar, signup system (automatic is default), and the text that users see when they sign up for your game.

When you're done, It'll create the game for you, make you a host, an owner (more on that in a minute), and send you to the Host panel for the game.

    Misc changes

  • Owners can't be removed from the Host list. If you're the one who made a game initially, then other Hosts can't remove you.

  • The Main Host Panel has a link to the game itself so you can advertise your game more successfully.

    NOTE

NIFE is now Version 4L, which means it's at a point where I can mass-advertise it. Some things I'd still like to do, however:

  • Set up some kind of documentation / better UX for newcomers.

  • Let people add stuff to their Journal on the new system.

  • List all active games somewhere.

  • Import MyCards into Messages/Player Actions

Since these are relatively easy, they'll probably be done tonight.

Since I still seem to have some extra time before I have to get a job, I'm going to try to finish off v5 as well as otherwise get prepared for the big advertising campaign (probably will happen this week (!!))

    A good addition.

I assume games made in this way don't use the forum view?

@Moonray: No, they don't. Actually games in general don't have to use the forum view -- and only those that are created via the old system even have the option for that.
