Basic Stuff

This is now the central priority. Before I release any games whatsoever I need to clean up my space here and get infrastructure in place to further games development. So it needs to run something like this:

  • Get *some kind* of rebrand website in place that details these ambitions and will become the home of progress bars and status updates. This needs to be a very very early version of the Hub Game, with a rate-limited (but no login as of yet) GTT-like space and maybe also a 2D space (since I can make those stupid quick). Need more images, and merchant's progress bar is wrong. And some kind of hit counter for my own use. All packaged code should be streamed from js.gtx0.com -- I really need to make that transition ASAP. Continue to have a permanent memorial to Kevin, Liane, Norma, Jason, and Garrett. Make something with bing's image generator, etched in stone forever.

  • Construct a master list of every single game, various tabular information about it, its progress. Same deal with sandboxes(tech demos or special projects), which should be a separate area. Have a short description as well and images if possible -- this longer content should be click to open. Some of these are actually gonna be done (the handgame, the fractal maze, mapbox, babel bookstore, etc). I need to also sort through my massive projects folders and see what else I can find. From here I can set priorities based on completion.

  • Create a hub game that's half 2D and half text all in the same engine -- it'll integrate with the database as well. Its purpose is in providing links to games and other content on the website, and it should absorb the website as a whole as well.

  • Get a very early alpha of pouch in place, especially the login and saving and *some* form of social stuff, probably an early edition of the journal for sanity in some of these large spaces.

  • Release anything that's actually complete, building out appropriate areas in the hub game. This + pouch stuff should also officially turn the hub game into the website. The forever garden in its current conception is definitely a viable sandbox. Definitely want to take the time to do pouch stuff, item export to the hub world, achievements, etc. As much integration with GTX0 prime as possible.

  • Go ahead and release anything close to completion as well. Like especially those sandboxes that have like one thing left in them or whatever.

  • Get openai tokens and build various wrappers for it -- this will improve my productivity moving forwards in various ways. Have also a spot on the private GTX0 for links to chatgpt and the bing image generator and anything else that's useful.

  • Get the blog up. Stream various aspects of it into the hub game, but it's kinda important for SEO and portfolio stuff that it exists separately in a wordpress engine.

  • The master list will dictate my priorities moving forwards -- the closer a game is to completion, the more it'll get bumped to the list when I'm in a productive mood, and when I'm in a more manic mood it'll necessitate moving projects around.

  • Player appearance and locations in the hub world (the movement-checking engine, overlapping players, statue shelves) seems pretty viable.

  • Same deal with player-made items and some kind of super rudimentary base building set of tools. You get a separate text base and 2d base, though you can definitely link them together. I definitely like the idea of being able to "claim" parts of a game world (unless the game creator has locked them) and have them be entrances to your base via Pouch.

  • A very basic Gutenberg Space where you can clone books with a suuuuuper limited list. Like I'd like to build the full project eventually but this will at least give you *something* and could integrate with Pouch and even tie into game systems for particularly boring game mechanics (like the Fishing Game or Caverlasting). Books should be their own item color. Same deal with Notebooks probably, though idk what Notebooks even are yet).
