Takes place in a single solar system. Which doesn't matter since there's a heck of a lot of gravitational bodies in one.
Content is *heavily* handcrafted, with the procgen easing my workload.
Metroidvania style gate-locking of areas. Vehicles probably play a role here, as well as warp drives in the beginning.
The basis of the gameplay is resource collection and crafting / base building, with the caveat that you can create your own unique weapons and ship weapons.
Combat is real-time and somewhat complex based on what enemies do and what your weapons can do. The environment may also play a role.
Planets, moons, gas giants, asteroids, planetary rings, comets, etc.
Navigation is based around points of interest -- you can't wander around planets endlessly, however because of the POI system there's a heck of a lot of content.
Some POIs may require Vehicles to traverse. These have to be built, so there's some metroidvania type stuff happening, and they can be kitted out in similar customizable ways to your ship.
