Basic Stuff

  • Straight transformation systems, so I can hone out that kind of engine prior to importing it into fleet / the arena / lootopia? / probably shatterloop to some extent / etc.

  • Text-based but largely menus based. The text engine will still probably be the most useful format however.

  • Needs to be a progressive thing of making things via the various forging tools progressively. Idk how any of this works as of yet.

  • Import the transformation crap from Lootopia, as it doesn't belong there.

    Items / Crafting System

    This is really the main thing I want to work on. Trying to keep it as simple as possible, but that's going to be hard to do.

  • Items have a cloud of properties known as Tags like "hard", "red", "uncooked", etc. This influences the crafting system.

  • Rooms and areas also have tags which influences the types of items that spawn there.

    Transformation types

  • Transform(ation) -- Turn one tag into another, like turn "uncooked" into "cooked" by cooking on a Stove fixture.

  • Augment(ation) -- Add tags, like use red paint to add a "red" tag.

  • Prune(age) -- Remove tags, like use glue to remove a "ripped" tag.

  • Join(age) -- Turn multiple items into a new item, like a traditional crafting system.

  • Extract(ion) -- Extract one or more items from an existing item.

    Any of the above can, case depending:

  • Catalytic -- Require an item but not use it. (Glue bottle)

  • Devouring -- Require an item and use it. (Red Paint)

  • Apparatic -- Require a fixture (Stove) which can be used repeatedly.

    So an Apparatic Augmentation uses a fixture to add tags.
